from the same place, you shall receive nothing for the same
expenses incurred by you in the same estate.
My Lord, I have confessed and I have been asked.

Φλ(αουίου) Φωκᾶ τοῦ αἰων(ίου) Αὐγούστου
⳨ In the name of the holy and consubstantial Trinity,
and of our Lady the Theotokos (Mother of God),
and of all the saints, in the reign of our most pious lord Flavius Phocas, the eternal Augustus,
in the third year after the consulship, second year of the same (indiction),
on the 13th of Pauni, at the end of the eighth indiction, in Arsinoe.
I, Aurelius Menas, son of Elias, rent-collector of the estate of Theodosakios, the most glorious general, from the city of the Arsinoites, from the Lower Quarter, greet Aurelius Kyrikos, pork-butcher, son of Menas, from the same city. I voluntarily acknowledge that I have agreed with you that if at any time I wish to remove you from the dwelling you occupy belonging to Theodosakios, the most glorious general, and you do not wish to leave it, I shall repay you the expenses you have incurred for the construction of the building there. But if you yourself willingly decide to leave the same place, you shall receive nothing for the expenses you have incurred in the same building. This agreement is valid, and upon being questioned, I have acknowledged it.
I, Menas, the aforementioned rent-collector, confirm this agreement as stated above. I, Elias Ioanes, wrote on his behalf.
⳨ Through me, Elias.
Agreement made by Aurelius Menas, rent-collector, son of Elias, with Aurelius Kyrikos, pork-butcher.
