Now therefore, O Lord, our leader, we have fled to you, beseeching to receive the Savior of all, whatever is just and we ask to write to those.
To arrange the things of the deceased and to give back their own, together with the sheep, so that we may be able to return to our own with women and children and those imposing upon us.
Of the sheep and not to be transgressors from our own lineage, that we may be under your benefaction. May it be prosperous.
νῦν οὖν, ἡγεμὼν κύριε, κατεφύγομεν

Now therefore, lord governor, we have fled
to you, the savior of all, requesting to receive
whatever is just, and we ask that you write to
[...] those who have the flocks of sheep
[ordering] them to return the property of those who have died,
[together] with the sheep, so that we may be able to return
[to our own places] with our wives and [children and]
[the sheep] belonging to us, and not become migrants
[away] from our own land,
[...] so that we may be benefited by you. Farewell.
Line 9: ἡμεῖν should read ἡμῖν ("to us").
