"Of the consulate of our lords Valens and Valentinian, the younger, of the eternal Augusti, Aurelius Callinicus, of Herminus, who is governing in the most illustrious city of Hermes, by the authority of Aurelius Pachymius Pamounius, henceforth, being written from the same city, being recorded at the crossroads, I swear by the divine and heavenly fortune of all victorious lords of ours, Valens and Gratian and Valentinian, of the eternal Augusti, that I will present him, if he is sought by your kindness without any excess or contradiction; but if I should fail and do not present him, I myself will support the cause on his behalf, or I would be liable to the divine oath and the danger concerning this, and having been asked, I swore. I, Aurelius Pachymius Pamounius, who is appointed, I guarantee and will present as it is prescribed. Written by me, Philopasaris."
