In the year of the month in the city of Heracleopolis, above Memphis. Ptolemaeus acknowledges with the lord the father of Ptolemaeus of the inhabitants of the horsemen, the orphan of Philoxenus, to the inhabitants of the horsemen to be agreeable to the event that has occurred to Philoxenus in the transcription and the other economic matters, of which he has granted to him from the existing concerning the land of Tylos, six arouras, which are in the lot of Nicander, eight arouras, and from the land in the south of Polemon and Perigenes to the north up to the land of Alexander towards the sun for the replenishment of the eight arouras being made in Tylos of Philotus, to Philoxenus and his descendants for all time, for which the designated father of the orphan has held to the crowns and the other royal properties, to provide to Philoxenus the land clean from the royal properties that are with him and from other grants for all time. For which Ptolemaeus also happens to have given to Archibius a memorandum concerning the constitution of the horsemen, by which it is stated that he has completed the other and the father of the orphan has died and has not been able to take the land unless he is less than completely exempt from the rents, which he may not transfer into the royal properties. The transcription and the exemplification have been made to Philoxenus of the aforementioned arouras. And let not Ptolemaeus or any other over it be present to Philoxenus or to those with him, concerning which Ptolemaeus acknowledges to have been granted to him land or part, nor in any other way to be established to Philoxenus or to those with him. But if anyone else stands against these, Ptolemaeus agrees to respond to his own expenses, and he agrees to confirm the land in question with all confirmation. If, however, he does not confirm the land as it has been previously written or does not respond or comes against Ptolemaeus concerning those who are troubling or demanding anything about the land or about a part standing against Philoxenus or to those with him, the things that have been agreed upon and arranged through the writing and the other economies shall be valid, but the expense shall be void and let Ptolemaeus or the one coming against it or those writing alongside it be liable for anything concerning the aforementioned copper talents and the damage and the loss of the two hundred copper talents of the action being as it is of the law and let nothing less be valid than the agreed upon and arranged. This writing is valid.
