Amfikles, a relative, and I, the notary,
from those in the city of Crocodilopolis of Thebes, of the priests
of Soukhus and of the others existing in the noted city
of royal soil, having imposed in the year of Thoth
those from Hermonthos in arms
and those among us who were present for the
preservation, they have reported
having interrupted the soil, the sacrifices,
so that through this cause they might be able to
sow the land
and various not a few things to the king and the priest
to be reported. Nor did they less, and into the city
having imposed with the sufficient and cavalry, they sat down our
fortress, and also of those who leaped out from us
having conducted such matters
of the assistance from you
having encountered the assistance from you
may it be fortunate.

To Amphikles, relative and memorandum-writer,
from the priests in the city of Crocodilopolis in the Thebaid,
of Sokhos and the other (gods), there being royal land in the aforementioned city:
In the month Thoth, year 48(?), those from Hermonthis attacked in arms
and killed those from our side who were stationed there for guarding,
having cut through the embankment in 24 places,
so that for this reason the land would become unsown,
and considerable losses would be incurred by the king and the temple.
Moreover, they also attacked the city itself with sufficient forces and cavalry,
and besieged our fortress, some of our men having sallied forth.
