Translation into English

Memorandum of Septimius Macron, former epistrategos, dated [to the year] of Antoninus our lord, Pharmouthi [---].

from Marcus Valerius Gemellus, physician.
Having been brought, contrary to what was forbidden, into supervision of the grain-taxed properties around the villages of Bacchias and Hephaestiada in the Heracleides division of the Arsinoite nome, and having labored in this duty already for four years, I have become completely weakened, my lord. Therefore, I beseech you, my savior, to have mercy on me and order that I now be released from this duty, so that I may recover myself from these labors. Nor is there any need [---] even to submit precedents, since those who practice the medical profession, especially those who have been examined and approved, as I myself have, are completely exempted from public services. Thus may I be favored. Farewell.
