Mesore 21, in Ptolemais Euergetis of the Arsinoite nome, under Julia Augusta.
(A woman) without distinguishing marks and Aphrodite, daughter of Neilos son of Neilos, about forty-four years old.
About thirty-five years old, without distinguishing marks; Soukhammon has received from Aphrodite:
Thirteen quarters of tested gold, consisting of a pair of earrings weighing four quarters, three quarters, and two rings, one weighing three quarters, the other one-hundredth. Aphrodite likewise has given as dowry, according to the offer of Metrodoros, a settlement of three arouras of land sealed with two seals, and also a courtyard. The mother Aphrodite has made this offer to her daughter, apart from the half share equally and indivisibly belonging to her daughter Aphroditous, by testament, and in the metropolis in the quarter of the Bithynians and other places, houses, a garden of one aroura, half an aroura of palm-grove, and in the village Aphrodite is to have the right of residence for as long as she lives, and the usufruct of half the portion of the three arouras of land around the settlement of Metrodoros. The same mother Aphrodite has contributed to the common household of the married couple for public dues in the metropolis. Thus, everything remains with the married couple, Soukhammon and Aphroditous, including clothing and all other things appropriate for a married woman, according to the capacity of the three arouras of Metrodoros' land, fulfilling all public obligations for them, and the share of the same three arouras' work and public dues for the duration of their cohabitation, provided she remains blameless in the marriage. If a dispute arises between the married couple and they separate from each other, Soukhammon shall return (the dowry) to the mother Aphrodite, or if she is no longer alive, to the daughter Aphroditous.
