Of the authority of our lords, Constantine the Most Honorable, the 6th, and Constantine the Most Illustrious Caesar, the 1st.
To Aurelius Phibi, not from the most illustrious city of Hermopolis, from Aurelius Dioscorus, son of Heras, from the same city, being recorded at the crossroads of the City of Aphelius.
I willingly and voluntarily wish to lease from you for the current year, the prosperous 8th indiction, the land that you have in the territory of Oxopoulos, for the release of the canal, as much as there is arable land for sowing and storage of what I may choose; instead of the taxes of the same canal, I will provide to the landholder half of all the produce coming from it, both wheat and straw, and the other half being mine, the tenant, for which I will make expenses for the same year from the sowing until the harvest itself.
Therefore, I will return to you half of what is due at the appropriate time of the same year, without delay, at the threshing floors of the same city, of all public and private and all kinds of offerings that are due to you, the landholder. The lease is valid and, having been asked, I have agreed. Of the authority of the aforementioned.
(hand 2) Aurelius Dioscorus, son of Heras, I have leased as is appropriate.
(Lease of Dioscorus son of Heras)
