We willingly and freely wish to lease from you for this current year of the fortunate twelfth indiction, the properties that are yours and having been distributed upon the exhausted village of Poios island from the Straton's estate, the chosen portion of whatever is arable for the deposit of vegetable seeds, instead of taxes and levies, we will give you from the forthcoming yield of seeds half the share and to us the tenants in exchange for which we will make agriculture and all expenses from the sowing until the harvest and itself.
We are using the remaining half of the public and all distributions and impositions and taxes of the same land that are towards you the farmer. The lease is valid and we, having been asked, have agreed."

In place of rent and taxes, we will give you, the landowner, half of the produce of the seeds that will be harvested, and the other half will belong to us, the lessees, in return for the cultivation and all related expenses from sowing until harvest itself [...].
