To Flavius Triadios, Marianus, Michael, Gabriel, Constantine, Theodoros, Martyr, to Julian, Athanasius, the most glorious general from the highest and most noble patrician praefect, to Justin, duke and Augustus of the Theban province, I beseech and implore you, from the most miserable orphaned servant Sophia, who is from the village of Aphrodite the all-suffering of the Antaiopolite law. May the divine providence and the Christ-loving lords of the scepters establish your glorious and most noble favor to rule over the all-suffering land of the Thebans, to those who have wronged me, the most wretched and miserable, as being deserving and half-evil, your beloved and most noble favor; and this I have accurately observed, and having inquired about the sweet and well-spoken matter of your just actions, I have come, being rolled along by the footsteps of your most noble and glorious footprints, wishing also to achieve your good fortune in justice, as in the matter concerning me, having such a manner, I teach that the most holy height of you as orphaned, having lived my life in harmony with the marriage, I was born with the intention of my divine beings, and having given birth to a male child of five years, of the life of this one who has departed, he left me nursing this one, from the toil he gave me, the father of this one, having passed away before marriage, as a gift, from the violence of the public agents of the village and the brothers of the same deceased husband, I have been released from them, having gathered my only orphaned child. Later, therefore, having been discouraged by this, I spoke, and having spent a little time with children with him, someone seized him, my husband, named Senouthes, from the city of Panos, having come from the vicinity, having been born from my husband, over some deserted one of the village, as a helper; having heard of the eyes and the deadly sins, the mentioned avenger Senouthes seized him; and from the second, by the machinations of ways, to destroy my widowhood and my freedom and to disgrace my nobility, not having been willing to follow the same will, he placed me in his own custody, having prepared a day for me to be beaten and to be trampled and to be hanged violently on a hill for five months of imprisonment. My lord, the most illustrious master Kollouthos, the chancellor and governor, commanded me to be released; I was not released by the mentioned Senouthes, later, when he departed to Panos, he entrusted me and left me the unplowed properties, having no caretaker and having driven me away, he placed me with the aforementioned wicked Hieremias, who has overturned the whole village; he remained also himself with a diploma from that arrangement; and having inherited nothing and from the first and from the second husband, neither having owed to the public, thus he delivered my widowhood with the orphaned child to the Macedonian soldiers. And having learned of these, so that they released me; but the child of mine was retained by the most wicked Hieremias, he left it outside of my nursing, humiliating it completely until it was taken away, I do not make it, therefore I beseech, invoking the height of you against the eternal God, the Savior and the salvation of you and the most glorious children, if it should be that you should justly command me in all things to be avenged and the orphaned child of mine, may God protect us for the longest time, master, among the most glorious and most noble generals, dukes and Augustans, patrician lords of the province of Flavius, Marianus, Michael, Gabriel, Sergius, Bacchus, Narses, Konon, Anastasios, Domninos, Theodoros, Callinicus, the most noble governor of the domestic dukes and Augustans of the Theban land.
