Greetings to Zenon from Philotas. Kratos has deemed it necessary for us to write to you regarding the bodies that have departed from the harbor of the Gazaians. For I was receiving (the information) from both Apollophanes and himself, so that I might manage the matters concerning the customs and expedite the process for them. Therefore, having gone to Herodias the tax collector, I found Apollophanes having made a concession to him regarding the tax (of drachmas) in the name of Apollonius. Thus, I accepted this sale, and I am making another in the name of Apollophanes and from the agreed tax, I deducted (drachmas) and arranged the bodies at the harbor and we brought the bodies to Heracleides and delivered them to Apollophanes, and he said he would keep them, but he did not allow us to have matters that we wished to manage together. Therefore, I have written to you so that you may know. Please be gracious to me regarding the matters for which I gave you the memorandum, having purchased and sent it to me. And you also write to us regarding whatever you wish; for we will do it for you willingly. Farewell. (Year) 26, of Panemus, 27.
