Simale, mother of Herophantos, greetings to Zenon. Having heard that I was being disturbed by my little child more violently, I came to you and, having come, I wanted to meet you concerning these matters. But since Olympichos prevented me from seeing you, I was sent to the child as much as I was able, and I found him lying down very sadly (*) and I was already pained to see him. But Olympichos, having come near, said that he would make him suffer badly or that he had already made him suffer, as he was already almost in a good condition (*) Therefore, I beg you and I implore you to make a return concerning these matters and to inform Apollonios in whatever way my child, being insulted, has been treated (*) by Olympichos as well as being the cause of this illness. For I have not received anything from the year, except for the payment and three artabas of grain from the month of Dystros, which is being sent to you by Herophantos. Therefore, the goodwill of Apollonios and yours is reported to me by the child, which you continue to have towards him. Therefore, I ask you and I also beg you if there is anything to be done, let Apollonios hasten to give me the provisions. Know (*) that as soon as the god releases him, I will set him before you so that I may also see you concerning the rest. As for the other matters, inquire from the one who brings you the letters. For he is not a stranger to us.
Good fortune.
