Due to the reasons that will be indicated regarding the matter, written by me and my mother Senabolloutos to Admetos and to Cheshtotes of those from the same village, a record of the loan for the memorandum of grain (of the artabos) in the year, not only this, but I also intended to make a record of the places I have in trust. The one being called, having become master of the transactions, has brought nothing of the agreements to an end for me, for which I have suffered not a little harm through him; and now, standing in an unjust position, seeing me regarding the sowing of the land, being hindered by my own misfortunes, he does not allow me to engage in farming contrary to what is about us farmers due to many appointments; from which I have been compelled to flee the land, unable to negotiate with him regarding the agreements, to seek refuge with you. Because of the reasons to be explained concerning this matter, I and my mother Senabollous wrote a loan contract to Admetos, son of Chesthotes, from the same village, through the granary, for 150 artabas of wheat in the 9th year. Moreover, I also gave him as security a mortgage contract on certain bare lands I possess. The accused, having taken control of these transactions, has not fulfilled any of the agreed terms, causing me considerable harm. Now, standing unjustly against me, seeing me occupied with sowing the land I farm, he makes raids against me and does not allow me to carry out my farming, contrary to the repeated orders concerning us farmers. Therefore, as the land risks remaining unsown, I am compelled, unable at present to settle these transactions with him, to seek refuge with you. I request, if it seems appropriate, that you instruct Agathonikos and Epimachos, the collectors of foreign taxes, that if the accused attempts to have me arrested by them, they should not detain me until after the sowing is completed, at which time I will settle all accounts with him.
