Translation into English

In the year 38, in the month of Choiak, in Pathyris, under the magistrate Sarapion, Apollonia lent to Ptolemaios son of Hermokrates of Cyrene, with the consent of her husband Dryton of Pamphylia, thirty-five artabas of wheat without interest. This loan shall be repaid by those who borrowed it to Apollonia in the month of Pachon of the year 38. The new, pure, unadulterated wheat shall be delivered to her house for her own use, in the measure that they have also received. If they do not repay it within the specified time, they shall immediately pay half of the price that is current in the market. The borrowers shall be mutually responsible for the repayment of all debts incurred through this loan. The transaction shall be valid for Apollonia from both of the borrowers and from each of them and from whoever may be chosen, and from all their possessions as per the law.

English Translation

In the 39th year, on the 12th of Choiak, at Pathyris, during the agoranomos Sarapion, Apollonia, daughter of Ptolemaios son of Hermokrates, a Cyrenaean woman, with her guardian, her husband Dryton son of Pamphilos, a Cretan, one of the cavalry commanders of the epitagmata, lent to Apollonios son of Apollodotos, also called Psennesis, a Persian of the epigone, and to Herais daughter of Ptolemaios, also called Tisris, a Persian woman, with her guardian, her husband Apollonios, the aforementioned, thirty-five artabas of wheat without interest. The borrowers shall repay this loan to Apollonia in the month Pachon of the 39th year, delivering new, clean, unadulterated wheat to her house at their own expense, measured by the same measure by which they received it, at the rate of 29 choenices per artaba. If they do not repay within the specified time, they shall immediately pay one and a half times the market price at that time. The borrowers are mutually guarantors for the repayment of all obligations arising from this loan. Apollonia shall have the right of execution against both borrowers, and against each individually, and against whomever she chooses, and against all their property, as if by legal judgment.
