To Aurelius Demetrias, the mother of the matron, daughter of Aurelius Posidonios, a memorandum written by Aurelius Marinus, the gymnasiarch and councilor of the city of Arsinoe, residing at the house of Aurelius Plutammos, mother of Helen, in the village of Euhimeria.
I wish to lease concerning the same village of Euhimeria a garden being cultivated (arable land) or as many as if it is for a period of years in which there is a well and a machine from the current month of Mecheir of the present year, the tax of the same each year of silver (drachmas) unaccounted for and without risk and it is not permitted for me to leave the lease within the time in no way but also I will be compelled to do all the annual works as is appropriate for the necessary times without causing any damage; hence I received from the respectable one for the pumping of one ox (drachmas) of the requested new construction or supply of wood or beams or stones or pitch or wages for the construction of the well and the machine and public things for the respectable and the contractor and [ ] for me the lessee; and I will pay the annual tax every six months equally and after the time I will return the garden under all kinds of vegetables as I also received if it seems to me to lease.
(of the year) of the Emperor Caesar Marcus Antonius Gordianus Eusebius Eutychus of Augustus Mecheir.
