To Aurelius Demetrias, the mother of the matron, daughter of Aurelius Posidonios, a memorandum written by Aurelius Marinus, the gymnasiarch and councilor of the city of Arsinoe, residing at the house of Aurelius Plutammos, mother of Helen, in the village of Euhimeria.
I wish to lease concerning the same village of Euhimeria a garden being cultivated (arable land) or as many as if it is for a period of years in which there is a well and a machine from the current month of Mecheir of the present year, the tax of the same each year of silver (drachmas) unaccounted for and without risk and it is not permitted for me to leave the lease within the time in no way but also I will be compelled to do all the annual works as is appropriate for the necessary times without causing any damage; hence I received from the respectable one for the pumping of one ox (drachmas) of the requested new construction or supply of wood or beams or stones or pitch or wages for the construction of the well and the machine and public things for the respectable and the contractor and [ ] for me the lessee; and I will pay the annual tax every six months equally and after the time I will return the garden under all kinds of vegetables as I also received if it seems to me to lease.

Αὐ[το]κράτορος Καίσαρος Μάρκου Ἀντωνίου Γορδιανοῦ Εὐσεβοῦς Εὐτυχοῦς Σεβαστοῦ
To Aurelia Demetria, a stolate matron, daughter of Aurelius Posidonius, hypomnematographos (official recorder), through Aurelius Marinus, former gymnasiarch and councillor of the city of the Arsinoites, from Aurelius Ploutammon, whose mother is Helen, residing in the village of Euhemeria.
I wish to lease around the same village of Euhemeria a vegetable garden of one aroura (or as many as there may be), for a period of three years, in which there is a well and a water-lifting machine, starting from the current month Mecheir of the present second year, at an annual rent of 100 silver drachmas, without deductions and without risk. It will not be permitted for me to abandon the lease within the agreed period under any circumstances, but I will necessarily perform all the annual tasks required at the appropriate times, causing no damage whatsoever.
Moreover, I have received from the honorable lady one ox for water-lifting, valued at 100 drachmas, for any necessary new construction or provision of wood, nails, stones, pitch, or carpenters' wages for the well, the machine, and harnesses, and for public dues owed by the honorable lady and the opposing party, and other obligations towards me, the lessee. I will pay the annual rent in equal installments every six months, and after the lease period, I will return the garden fully planted with vegetables, just as I received it, if it seems good to lease it.
Year 2 of Emperor Caesar Marcus Antonius Gordianus Pius Felix Augustus, Mecheir 29. (Unsigned)
