In the reign of Ptolemy son of Ptolemy and Berenice, of the gods Benefactors, in the eighth year, under the priesthood of Ptolemy son of Ptolemy of the Stasikratous, of Alexander, and of the gods Saviors and of the gods Brothers and of the gods Benefactors and of the gods Philopators, the bearer of Arsinöe Philadelphus, of Arsinöe of Sosibius, in the month of Peritios, in Tholthei of the Oxyrhynchite. He rented for one year a seed and harvest, one from the seed of the ninth year, in which the fruits are in the tenth year, to Eupolis, an Athenian, a private citizen of Alexander son of Kratitos of Cyrene, of the descendants, and to Horos, the priest of Thuyrios. Half of the produce of his own land, which is twenty and two arouras, with a seed of a safe crop of wheat, one hundred and twenty-six arta-
bōs, let Eupolis give them seed for each aroura of wheat, one arta-
bōs on the debt. If Eupolis finds any land, let him give more than twenty-two arouras from geometry and this measure, let them assign the tax to Eupolis. The tax of each aroura of wheat is eight, with seed. The total taxes collected shall be given to Alexander and Horos, Eupolis in the month of Dystros of the tenth year, pure and unadulterated grain that has been produced in the land, according to the measure of Eupolis, justly measured and let them deliver it to the private property of Eupolis. If they do not deliver according to the written terms, let Alexander and Horos pay Eupolis the tax of each arta-
bōs of wheat, ten drachmas. The sheaf shall belong to Eupolis; the straw, having been threshed, shall belong to Eupolis, and the action shall be for Eupolis, by Alexander and Horos, acting according to the diagram. Let Eupolis have the fruits until he collects his own. Let it be confirmed that Eupolis has the land and the fruits that have been sown in it, according to what he has rented. If he does not confirm according to the written terms, let Eupolis pay Alexander and Horos a fine of a thousand silver drachmas, if no royal impediment arises. This document shall be valid wherever it is presented; witnesses.

In the reign of Ptolemy, son of Ptolemy and Berenice, the Benefactor Gods, in the eighth year, during the priesthood of Ptolemy, son of Ptolemy, son of Stasikrates, Alexander, and of the Savior Gods, and the Brother-Sister Gods, and the Benefactor Gods, and the Father-loving Gods, with Arsinoe Philadelphus, daughter of Sosibius, as basket-bearer, in the month Peritios, at Tholthis in the Oxyrhynchite nome:
Eupolis, an Athenian, son of Philon, a private individual, has leased for one year, for one sowing and harvest from the sowing of the ninth year, whose crops will be harvested in the tenth year, to Alexander, son of Krates, a Cyrenaean of the epigone, and to Horos, an Oxyrhynchite, temple servant of Thoeris, half of the fallow land in his own allotment, which comprises twenty-two arouras, with seed provided, free from risk, at a rent of one hundred twenty-six artabas of wheat. Eupolis shall provide them seed wheat at the rate of one artaba per aroura as required.
If Eupolis finds by measurement any land exceeding the twenty-two arouras, let them pay Eupolis rent for each additional aroura at eight artabas of wheat, seed included. Alexander and Horos shall deliver the agreed rent to Eupolis in the month Dystros of the tenth year, clean and pure wheat measured by Eupolis' own measure, and shall transport it at their own expense to Eupolis' premises.
If they fail to deliver according to the agreement, they shall pay Eupolis ten drachmas per artaba of wheat. The straw shall belong to Eupolis, and Eupolis shall keep the chaff after threshing. Eupolis shall have the right of execution against Alexander and Horos according to this contract. Eupolis shall retain ownership of the crops until he receives his due.
Eupolis shall guarantee to Alexander and Horos the land and the crops sown therein according to the terms of this lease. If Eupolis does not guarantee according to the written terms, he shall pay Alexander and Horos a penalty of one thousand drachmas of silver, unless prevented by royal decree. This contract shall be valid wherever produced. Witnesses.
