Translation

† Finding an opportunity, I, Apa Victor, the secretary, deemed it necessary to write and the offering of worship to your holy fatherhood. Therefore, through this letter of mine, I worship you, asking you to remember my always briefness and the worshipping of you, so that God, through your holy prayers, may deliver me from the impending wrath along with my most beloved father, the holy one. I received from my most illustrious lord the command to write to Lord Probos the written request to send the mentioned offering to the harbor. If, therefore, as is likely, I will only make the offering to be distributed among those given to the monastery above me for ten months for the needs, and I was not able to save it from decay and from the sea. And at present, so that the offering may not suffer, I ask both for myself to be helped and for the offering, and so that I may do nothing contrary to your good intention, knowing that your good purpose is not to harm any of the same poor. And it has been permitted to me to free the monastery. I write these things embracing your honorable feet.

† To our lord, the most holy and most venerable father, spiritual with God, the bishop.

† I, Isakos, your servant.
