Translation into English

To the chief general of Arsinoite, of the Heracleides division, from Didas, the overseer of Hermes, of the present year, 13 (year) of the Emperor Caesar Trajan Hadrian Augustus, regarding two reception points near the village of Hephaestias. I request a report from the same reception points, nothing from the fish market has occurred until now. Those from the village use the same reception points, under which the tax of their outcasts is recorded as being collected by you. Didas, through Asclepiades, has delivered the preceding report from a healthy source and in truth as it is. He wrote on behalf of him, saying that he does not know the letters of Saophas, the tax collector. (year) 13 of the Emperor Caesar Trajan Hadrian, of the month of Caesar's arrival.

To Protarchos, strategos of the Arsinoite nome,
of the Herakleides division,
from Didas son of Hermas, overseer
of the present 13th year
of Emperor Caesar
Trajan Hadrian Augustus.
Concerning two fishing-weirs near the village
of Hephaistiada. Requesting an account,
I declare that from these same
fishing-weirs nothing from
hunting fish has been obtained
up to now. But the people from
the village use these same
fishing-weirs, from which also
their assigned tax
is recorded as being collected
by you.
I, Didas, through Asklepiades,
have submitted the present
account in good health and truthfully,
as stated above. Written on behalf of him who states
that he does not know letters, by Saophas, the notary.
