To the worthy and honorable parents, the defenders, magistrates, and the entire court of the city of Faventina, Milanius and Gerontius send greetings. In the knowledge of your gravity, we have believed it necessary to deposit, knowing that your commendable nature has drawn us to this day with the best right and laws, and we have transferred, to Laurentius, a strong man, that is, from the estate of Roborata, one and a half ounces with the building and all rights and instruments pertaining to it, just as the texts of the instruments, which were made in the city of Ravenna, have been received in the present price, agreed and defined, that is, five solidi of gold. Because it is in your territory established, and only the delivery is lacking, therefore the lords and the right of honoring parents have accepted this letter of mine, your commendable nature will honor the mentioned buyer and his men with the customary solemn tradition, according to your laws and acts; also, you will admonish the tabular office of your city, so that you may command the binding of the mentioned place, which is inserted in the documents, just as it is read above, to be designated to the same buyer and his agents, so that all may know from the present third indiction that it pertains to his domain. This letter of transfer we have ordered to be written by Eventius the notary, in which we have made our signatures under our own hands and we have obtained witnesses to subscribe and we have directed it to your commendable nature on the 12th day before the Kalends of April, six times after the consulship of Paulinus Junion, a most illustrious man, in the third indiction. The sign of Milanius, an honorable man, the above-mentioned seller. The sign of Gerontius, an honorable man, the above-mentioned seller. I, Peter, a strong man, having been requested by Melanius and Gerontius, honorable men, present here, have subscribed as a witness to this letter of transfer of one and a half ounces of the above-mentioned estate. Daniel, a strong man, having been requested by Melanius and Gerontius, honorable men, present here, have subscribed as a witness to this letter of transfer of one and a half ounces of the above-mentioned estate. To the praiseworthy lords and respected fathers, the defender, the quinquennial magistrate, and the entire order of the curia of the city of Faenza, Milanius and Gerontius send greetings.
We have thought it proper to bring to your esteemed attention that on this day, by full right and according to the laws, we have sold and transferred to Laurentius, a distinguished man, from the estate called Roborata, one and a half ounces [of land] along with its building and all rights, furnishings, and equipment belonging to it, as detailed in the documents drawn up in the city of Ravenna. Having received the agreed and defined price at present, namely five and one-third gold solidi, and since the property is located within your territory and only the formal transfer remains, we therefore respectfully request your esteemed authority, upon receiving this letter, to grant the aforementioned purchaser and his representatives the customary formal transfer. Please ensure this is recorded in your laws and acts, and instruct the archivist of your city to designate clearly to the purchaser and his representatives the measurement of the land mentioned in the documents, as stated above, so that from this present third indiction onward he may recognize it as belonging to his ownership.
