To Aurelius Ambeilius, the prefect of Egypt, from Aurelius Patermuthius, the pig butcher:
From the splendid and most illustrious city of Oxyrhynchus, on the day of my customary allocation of our estate, which is situated at the junction of the pastoral land, to a certain Thonius from the same city, where there are six pigs, I withdrew to my house.
And after one hour, I was informed by my neighbor Thonius that an incident had occurred at the estate, and immediately I was present with others from the same city, who came along with me and Thonius to the same estate.
And we found a young pig at the wall of the estate, and the door of the same Thonius was found sealed, opened, and the blood of one pig was lying there.
