To [Flavius Apion, the most renowned and most exalted, from the highest] of the [landholders] who are [in the] splendid city of Oxyrhynchus through Mena, the servant of the one who is asking and providing to his own lord, the same renowned man, Aurelius Surus, son of Pebethos, of the mother of Sueiras, having come from the village of Kyotheos of the upper Cynopolite district, governed by the law, [I greet you].
[I am] from the [land] of the [great] worker and the small worker and the circular basin, having ascended upon the city, I have deemed it worthy of your [great] [land] through those who differ from it, so that I may command that the same mechanical tools be provided to me, and immediately your [great] [land] is making provision for the arrangement of its own matters, these having been purchased from those who differ from it in the fields, new supplies of [mechanical] tools that are pleasing, I have received for the replenishment of all the mechanical instruments on this day, which is the sixth and tenth of the current year, the first of the indiction of the present year, for the distribution of the second harvest and for the proof of the [land] reception, I have made this handwriting, which being valid, is simply written and having been asked, I have acknowledged.
