"Of your administration
of such horizons
those who are appealing to them as men into each province to which we have subjected you
in the present letter sending
to them some capable and trustworthy
to meet with them regarding the fugitives
and to establish among themselves the name and patronymic
of each and from which district and in which place and in which province they have fled from those being sent
to their own
and those present where they are staying
simply to say
to learn all information commanding them to stand firmly in their work and not to receive from anyone anything at all regarding the total for the fugitive. For you will know how if someone is recognized from those sent by you having been received by anyone
the fugitive sees danger and you are about to receive this with the one being recognized.
But with brevity send those men to the aforementioned regarding the fugitives and do not let me find you that you have hindered this or that you have delayed
from not sending to the full number which we have written to you and you will be in danger."

[Of your] administration...
...defining thus those people who have fled to each pagarchy, concerning which we have instructed you in this present letter, sending to them a capable and trustworthy literate person who must meet with them and with those responsible for the fugitives, and record clearly the name and patronymic of each one, and from which village and in which place and in which pagarchy each has fled, both of those being sent back to their own places and those remaining where they have settled for taxation purposes. Simply put, you must thoroughly investigate all information, instructing them to stand firm in their task and not to accept anything at all from anyone as a bribe. For you must know that if anyone sent by you is found guilty of having received a bribe from any person whatsoever, the danger will fall upon you, and you will be liable along with the one convicted. Therefore, quickly send such men to the aforementioned officials responsible for the fugitives, and let me not find that you have hindered this or that you have failed to send out the full number which we have written to you, lest you be endangered. Written on the 2nd of the month Choiak, 9th indiction.
