(parā) Καλίστου
To the beloved brother, greetings from Paeios and Patabeus.
To the presbyters, Kalistos, in the Lord God, greetings. They know
that we want to inform you of the things that have happened here; for you have heard
the things we have suffered during the night.
In the house of Herakleios of the commander.
For there are also some brothers from those who came to us
with us in the house, and they are able to report to you the things that have happened.
For after the day, they moved
in the third hour
and in the tenth of the month of Pachon, Isaac
the bishop came from Leto to Herakleios in Alexandria, and he wanted
to taste with the bishop in the camp. Therefore, those who were different
from Athanasius came and brought with them soldiers
of the duke and of the camp, drinking
they came at the ninth hour, having gathered
the camp, wanting to seize him and the brothers. Therefore, some soldiers
who were in the camp and having fear of God in their hearts restrained them and hid them in the cells in the camp.
And they moved
not being found, they found four
brothers coming in the camp, and having cut them off and having made them bleed
so that they were in danger and they cast them
outside of Nicopolis.
And after casting them out
they went back to the gate of the Sun in the monastery where they are
being entertained by the brothers and having seized others five
they went out
of the camp in the evening, and having gathered
them until the praepositus came forth
in the signs towards the praepositus
and having taken them the praepositus and the scribe commanded them to be cast out of Nicopolis; and the monk Heraklidis, having been able
and having insulted
they threatened
him, saying that for what reason
you have insulted the monks
of the Melitians in the monastery; and another brother Ammon being in the camp and receiving him
the brothers gathered
in the camp, they commanded him
not to receive him alone in his house. For there is no other brother
except these two receiving the brothers; they made them to be hidden.
Therefore, we are greatly distressed being very much torn apart by them in place. Therefore, we are left
that they do not allow us to go to the pope Herakleios to visit him. For in the night in which the brothers were insulted, the praepositus
of the soldiers sent
a message to the bishop saying that I have sinned and I was reproached
in the night that I insulted the brothers. And he also made love in the movement
on that day being a Greek because of the sin which he committed.
But Athanasius greatly despaired
and he himself provided
us with labor because of the things written
and the messages
that were coming to him from outside, since
the king Makarios having found him outside in the collection
wrote
that he had bound him and
to
be
. Therefore, when Archelaus went away
with Athanasius the son of Capiton,
wanting to take Makarios, the message therefore went to John in Antioch;
he came and having seized them he held them, since
they were writing against Herakleios, and Archelaus himself held the marriage
outside. Therefore God made
and the three
outside and he has
outside. Therefore Athanasius heard that Archelaus
was held, Athanasius was very despaired. Therefore they came upon him in many ways and until now he has not departed; they cast
his vessels into the sea as he was wandering
, and again he brought back
the vessels from the ship, not wanting to return
to
be
known in what distress
he was; for he was
the bishop of the lower country
and he gathered him in the slaughterhouse, and he gathered the presbyter of the same parts
and he gathered him in the simplicity and the deacon
in the greatest guard, and until
the eighth and twentieth of the month Pachon and Herakleios is confined
in the camp, I thank the Lord God that the plagues which he had ceased and on the seventh
and twentieth he made seven bishops to depart; Emmius and Peter are among them, the son of Tubestus. Therefore do not neglect
us, brothers, since
the loaves have been left behind, that
for the bishop lest
they be taken outside lest he eat
them with him. For I, buying loaves for food, bought
a artab of wheat (talents)
15. Therefore when it is found
knowing
send to me a few loaves. I greet
my father Praepon
and all the brothers who are with him and Theonas the deacon
Saprion and Horion
and Papnutius and all Sarmatian and Paomin and Piore and Eudaimon and all Tryphon
and Gerontius and all Hierakhan
and all Helen and all Harion and all Piam and Cornelius
and Pisatin and Kolouthon
and Joseph and his children and Phineas. Therefore do not neglect,
father
, to send to Psaein from Terot for the artab of wheat, and make
Tuan from Tamouron that he himself may go to Tamouron for the artab of wheat;
for the days are to take
them. I greet
Paul the reader and all
Elin
and Anubian the great and Anubian the small and Pamoutis and Titouin and his children
and Hor from Tumakons and all the brothers of him who are with him and Papnutius and Leonidas the brother of him and the other brother who is with them.
