In the tenth year of the Emperor Caesar Vespasian Augustus, in the month of Caesar, on the third day in Bacchias, of the Heracleid portion of the Arsinoite nome, Maron, son of Hermatos, acknowledges that he has sold to Ptolemaios, son of Ammonios, for forty-seven years, a middle part of the house and courtyard, which is a third and a ninth part of the communal house and old courtyard, from the total of all measures and cubits, upon the ancient foundations that exist, and the perimeters in their current disposition, of which the neighbors of all the south of Katoitos of Mencheios and the places of the shareholders are a common entrance and exit to which a door opens, a northern royal passage, the property of the aforementioned Katoitos of Mencheios and the shareholders, an old house, of the sun god Horus of Katoitos of Belliou and of his brothers, a courtyard with which the old house is connected, and he shall pay the agreeing amount of one hundred silver drachmas immediately from the full amount through hand from the house, and he shall confirm both himself, the obligor Maron, and those from him to Hermatos, and to those from him all that has been done in this transaction shall be confirmed for all time and shall be delivered undamaged and unencumbered and unalienable and pure from public and private debts, and neither pre-existing nor previously sold to others nor any part in any way, nor shall it hinder the buyer Hermatos nor those from him in any way. Whatever of the aforementioned shall not be confirmed by the obligor Maron or those from him or shall not provide as written, apart from the contrary, shall be void and unacceptable in every way, and he shall pay immediately the damages and the double and honorable price of three hundred silver drachmas and to the public the equal amounts, and let the transaction be valid.
