"Of the magistrates of our lords, Constantine Augustus, the 7th, and of Constantine the most illustrious Caesar, to Aurelius Eulogius, Eulogius, and Diogenes, son of Diogenes, and to Dorotheus, son of Thonius, Pasio, and to all the councilors of the city of Oxyrhynchus, and to the overseers of the grain of Alexandria, from Aurelius Apphus, son of Tithoetes, from the governor of the ship of Oxyrhynchus, with a guarantee of the delivery of the cargo and the letters to be presented from the full delivery of the cargo of Aurelius Bernikianos, councilor, archon of the same city. We, the undersigned, swearing by the most revered divine oath of our lords, Constantine Augustus and Constantine the most illustrious Caesar, I, the governor, have received and have been entrusted with the aforementioned ship from the harvest of the fortunate 13th indiction of new, pure, unadulterated, and dry grain, and outside of all causes, established by public measure, as commanded for the same (artabas). The sample is unblemished, held and presented to the cargo, appeared upright, and the artabas were accepted for the subsequent delivery. And the steersman brought the weight (of the cargo) to the most brilliant Alexandria and I will deliver it to the public treasures there, fully numbered, and of the delivery, I will receive letters in your name, the overseers, and I, the guarantor, willingly and voluntarily, will guarantee the governor delivering the cargo."
