In the fourth year of the reign of the Emperor Caesar Marcus Aurelius Severus Alexander, of the pious and fortunate, in the month of Tybi, on the 20th day in the city of Nile, in the metropolis. Aurelius Cephalus, son of Semtheus, mother of Dionysius, from the city of Nile, acknowledges that he has sold a slave named Soterida, aged nine years, for the sum of 52 drachmas of the silver coinage of the Augusti, according to this agreement made between themselves.

He also acknowledges that he has received from Apion a full number of drachmas, and that he will not take back this slave Soterida without a sacred illness and without a release. Therefore, he will have the authority to manage and control this slave, and to execute whatever he wishes regarding her, without any authority remaining to Cephalus or anyone else over her, according to what Apion has agreed upon.

The slave Soterida, having been examined by the royal secretary succeeding the general Aurelius Origenes on the day in question, will not be taken away by Cephalus immediately for his own expenses, ensuring everything is secure. The transaction is valid. Concerning the proper and good execution of these matters, Cephalus has acknowledged when questioned.
