In the 30th year of Caesar, on the 4th of Mesore, recorded through Me(...) the notary,

Agreement concerning green fodder cultivation of six arouras near Theadelphia:
We, Arthothes and Marsisouchos, both sons of Marreios, from Theadelphia of the Themistos district, public farmers, acknowledge that we have leased to Batrachos, son of Artemidoros, from the public lands we cultivate near the same village, two sealed plots of land, six arouras or however many there may be, measured by rope, for fodder cultivation and sheep grazing, for the sowing of the 31st year of Caesar. Batrachos will provide the seed for the land, the earthworks, irrigation, canal maintenance, and all necessary labor being our responsibility. We will carry out the sowing with all diligence in the month Hathyr of the same year... as Batrachos wishes... and we will deliver the aforementioned six arouras of green fodder measured by rope to the embankment. Batrachos will pay for each aroura... silver drachmas... totaling drachmas... We have received in full this price of two hundred drachmas... of the green fodder... because we do not know letters (are illiterate).
Two hundred drachmas have been paid off in the year of Caesar... through Afr(...) the governor...
