χαίρειν.
ἐπὶ τῆς γενομένης διαπράσεως τῶν τελωνι-
κῶν ὑπό τε ἐμοῦ καὶ σοῦ ἐπὶ παρόντων καὶ
τῶν εἰωθότων, δυσπειθούντων τῶν τὸ ἐν-
κύκλιον ἀσχολουμένων καὶ τοῦ
τὸ ἀγο-
ρανόμιον δημοσιωνῶν
ὡς ἱκανὰ βλαπτο-
μένων καὶ κινδυνευόντων μεταναστῆ-
ναι, <τὸ>
δόξαν ἡμεῖν
ἔγραψα τῶι κρατίστωι
ἡγεμόνι περὶ τοῦ πράγματος. ἀντιγράψαν-
τος οὖν αὐτοῦ μοι περὶ τοῦ ἐφιδόντα τὰς
π[ρο]τέρας μισθώσεις κατὰ τὸ δυνατὸν
[ἀνα]κουφίσαι τοὺς τελώνας ὑπὲρ τοῦ μὴ
φυγ[ά]δας γενέσθαι τ[ο]ὺς πρὸς β̣[ίαν] ἀ[γο-]
μένους(?),
καὶ πρότερόν σοι τὸ ἀντίγρ[αφο]ν
τῆς ἐπιστολῆς μετέδωκα ἵνʼ εἰδῇς, καὶ
ὅτι ἀποδημοῦντός σου καὶ τῶν ὠνῶν
μὴ ἐπιδεδεγμένων ὑπὸ τῶν τελωνῶν
μηδὲ μὴν ἄλλων προσερχ[ομ]ένων αὐ-
τοῖς ⟦πολλάκις⟧ πολλάκις προκηρυχθεισῶν
ἔλαβον χειρογραφείας

Greetings.
Regarding the recent transaction of the customs
by both me and you in the presence of
those accustomed, those who are reluctant, those engaged in the circular
and the
public auction as they are sufficiently harmed
and in danger of migrating,
we thought
I wrote to the most excellent
governor concerning the matter. Therefore, having copied
it, I wrote to you about the one who had given the
previous leases to the best of my ability
to relieve the customs officers from not
becoming fugitives against violence(?),
and I previously sent you the copy
of the letter so that you may know, and
that while you are away and the purchases
not received by the customs officers
nor by others approaching them
often proclaimed
I received the handwritten documents
of both the circular
and the office of those engaged.
