Translation into English

Of the magistrates of our lords, Constantine Augustus, the sixth, and of Constantine, the most illustrious Caesar, the second, from the city of Mesore, Aurelius Heracleides, son of Heracleides, having served as gymnasiarch and prytanis, in the council of the illustrious and foremost of the Oxyrhynchites, from Aurelius Castor of Pathermuthis, from the same city. I willingly accept to lease for the current year, the year 578, the product of two of your properties, one northern and one southern, of the palm trees, to make the collection of these and to bring them into my own possession duly and completely, for me in regard to the tax of the entire product of these palm trees, eight thousand talents of silver, (is to be) of silver (talents), without danger of any risk. And I, being assured, will return the tax in three payments, all of which are to be paid from Mesore to Athyr, talents.

English Translation

In the consulship of our lords Constantius Augustus for the 6th time and Constantius the most illustrious Caesar for the 2nd time, on the 1st of Mesore.
To Aurelius Herakleides, son of Herakleides, who has served as gymnasiarch and prytanis, councillor of the splendid and most illustrious city of Oxyrhynchus, from Aurelius Kastor, son of Pathermouthios, from the same city.
I voluntarily undertake to lease, for only the present 47th year, 29th, 2nd of the produce, 12th indiction, the fruit of the date palms of your two plots, northern and southern, of the orchard, on condition that I myself carry out the harvesting of these and duly transport them to my own place, and that I myself shall pay as fixed rent for the entire produce of these same date palms eight thousand silver talents (which amounts to silver talents 8,000), free from all risk.
Once the lease is confirmed to me, I shall pay the rent in three installments, the entire amount being paid from Mesore until Hathyr, talents 2,663 2.
