Aurelius Dioscurides, also called Sabinus, former gymnasiarch, councillor, and acting magistrate, chief prytanis of the city of Oxyrhynchus, overseeing also civic affairs. The granted lease of the indicated public place in the Capitolium, under the eastern colonnade, for the opening of a tavern, is publicly displayed so that all may know and those wishing to offer better bids may come forward, with the city's rights in all matters preserved. Recorded in the first year of our lords Macrianus and Quietus Augusti, on the 30th of Tybi.
To Aurelius Dioscurides, also called Sabinus, former gymnasiarch, chief prytanis of the city of Oxyrhynchus, overseeing civic affairs, from Aurelius Horion, son of Kollouthos, whose mother is Tereus, from the city of Oxyrhynchus. I voluntarily undertake to lease a workshop in the city's Capitolium, under the eastern colonnade, for the opening of a tavern for one year, starting from the new moon of the following month Mecheir of the current first year, at a monthly rent of eight drachmas. Upon confirmation of my acceptance, I shall use the workshop with its entrance and exit freely for the duration, and I shall pay the rent monthly without delay on the thirtieth day. At the end of the term, I shall return the place clean of dung and all filth, and I shall either return the doors and keys I received or pay their value if I fail to return them, the transaction being as proper. This acceptance is binding, as I have acknowledged upon questioning. If my lease is not ratified, I shall not be bound by this promise. In the first year of the Emperors Caesars Titus Fulvius Junius Macrianus and Titus Fulvius Junius Quietus, the Pious, Fortunate Augusti, on the 28th of Tybi.
I, Aurelius Horion, son of Kollouthos, have submitted this acceptance, undertaking to lease and to pay the rent as stated above. I, Aurelius Didymus, wrote on his behalf, as he does not know letters.
