Translation into English

To my good benefactor and lord, I make this supplication and entreaty.

From Pheotios, your servant, from the settlement of Kineas.

The charitable and Christ-loving nature of your most glorious lordship is known throughout the land, and many have prepared to flee to her.

Those who approach are found to be just and deserving of all mercy.

Therefore, I, the wretched one, approach, weeping and teaching against myself, as a farmer who is in debt to your most glorious lordship.

As for the three years that have passed, my livestock have perished, and I have been cut off from my farming, as has been stated, for three years, and I have remained in a foreign land.

And for the same three-year period, I have remained in a foreign land so that I might find sustenance for my children.

I beseech and implore your most glorious lordship to command me to enter the estate and not to demand from me what I have not sown, so that I may be able to work in the same estate and provide for my miserable children. And I will send my prayers to the Lord Christ for the life of your most glorious lordship.

For I am unable, my lord, to provide for what I do not sow. For there are those who sow and are able to provide.

And I teach this, that when the caretaker came into the estate, he seized all my humble belongings for such a reason. And I implore to receive your mercy. For I call upon the Lord God as a witness that I have no dry bread to eat with my children because of this need.

And for this reason, I have fled to her so that I may be counted among all those who have been benefitted by her, most glorious benefactor, lord, master.
