English Translation

Aurelius Dioscurides, also called Julianus,
Strategos of Oxyrhynchus,
to Claudius Heracleius, also called Plutarchus,
Praepositus of the pagus, my most beloved, greetings.

According to the command of my lord, the procurator
of the Heptanomia, Valerius Sarapodorus,
make haste to arrange that there be provided from
your pagus to Chaeremon, Stephanus, and
Serenus Nemesion from Oxyrhynchus,
and to their fellow merchants,
in return for what they have provided in the city of Memphis
to the most noble soldiers stationed there,
meat (in pounds), of which distribution
they are bringing the receipts (phormaria) with them,
the same amount of four thousand eight hundred
and fifty pounds. Having received from them these same
receipts (phormaria), ensure that they are accepted by those
who are making the distribution, individually according to the
military rank, presenting them to those who are making
the contribution of this station.

(hand 2) I pray for your good health, my beloved.

(hand 3?) In the consulship of our lord Maximinus Augustus,
the 2nd of Mesore, 29th day.
