greetings. I acknowledge that I have received from you, through your hand, a certain sum of silver (money), amounting to a certain number of drachmas,
which I will repay to you whenever you wish, without delay.
But if not, I will repay you according to the law concerning deposits,
with the right of action belonging to you against me and against all my property,
just as if by legal judgment. This handwritten receipt of deposit, written in duplicate by my own hand,
is valid everywhere and for anyone who presents it on your behalf. (Year...)"
