To Aurelius Leonides, strategos of Oxyrhynchus, [from] Aurelius Matreas, son of Herakleides, whose mother is Dionysia, from the city of Oxyrhynchus, having been appointed by the amphodogrammateus of the fifth period of the fifth and sixth tribes to the office of collector of grain-taxes of the metropolis for the current 12th year of Kesmouchis, I swear by the fortune of Aurelius Severus Alexander Caesar, our lord, that I will undertake the stated duty and will perform it openly, honestly, and faithfully, so that I may not be blamed in any respect or become liable to the oath. I have provided as my guarantor Aurelius Ploutos, son of Tasneetes, from Aphynchis, from the village of Senepta, who is present and consenting.
