To Tiberius Claudius Potamon, priest, I write a memorandum and to the interpreter who has become chief judge and general of the city and to the Caesareans and to the other prytaneis, from Heracleides son of Heracleides Althaeus, in the twelfth year of Tiberius Caesar Augustus, while the youths are being initiated. The one who has happened to me from Poseidonia, the city of the multitude, son of Theon, was crowned with the hair in honor of the city on the fifteenth of Tubi of the current year in the great Serapideion, with the priest and memorandum writer and interpreter present. Following this, concerning the occurrences of the memoranda, and wishing to carry out the matters of the initiation into the current fourth year of Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, I deem it necessary to arrange for the cosmētēs and the gymnasiarch to receive him among the same year’s youths and we have examined the preceding memoranda to say to those who are to sign for me the matters concerning his initiation and youth, after he has been judged by the reader of this memorandum, not to be hindered as far as he was not present at the burdensome presentations nor is there in the writings of the future any lack of certain times from the same, I declare that his first fruits are.
