To Antoninus, priest and chief judge, and regarding the oversight of the financiers and the other judges, from Theon of Dionysius from the city of Oxyrhynchus. In earlier times, I had anticipated the handwriting of my brother Sarapion's son Phanias in the loan which his sister Demetria had of twenty mna of gold. After this, when there was a dispute concerning the loan, both Phanias and Demetria were present before me regarding [the matter] of the loan of twenty mna of gold, and Demetria likewise concerning the silver drachmas of three thousand six hundred that she held until the [settlement of the loan], having been released from the notes of Carus, accordingly, concerning those who had been under his [Carus'] obligations, it was to be held by Demetria until the [settlement of the loan] of three thousand six hundred silver drachmas, the amounts indicated in gold. And having been released from the notes of Carus, Phanias at some time, having been involved in certain ways, dared to make public what he had of the gold loan in writing. Having recognized both Phanias and Demetria, I direct them to themselves in the month of the past year, the year of the handwriting, confirming that they had withdrawn, Phanias from Demetria the twenty mna of gold, and Demetria from Phanias the three thousand six hundred silver drachmas according to necessity, I flee to you, the lord, and I request to write to the general of Oxyrhynchus to send to Phanias a copy of this memorandum so that he may know that no one should be left with a reason concerning this matter, neither concerning the amounts of the mna. Thus, I have written on his behalf letters that he does not know.

To Antoninus, priest and chief judge, and overseer of the money-changers and other courts, from Theon son of Dionysius, from the city of Oxyrhynchus in the Oxyrhynchite nome. Previously, I had provided to Phanias, son of my brother Sarapion, a written guarantee concerning the twenty minae of gold which his sister Demetria possessed. Afterwards, a dispute arose between Phanias and Demetria in my presence before [...]oupius Carus, who was then judge. Phanias demanded from Demetria the aforementioned twenty minae of gold, while Demetria similarly demanded from Phanias three thousand six hundred drachmas of silver, which she held until the repayment of the loan. Carus decided, according to his written memoranda, that Demetria should retain the gold until the repayment of the loan of three thousand six hundred drachmas of silver. After I was released from the guarantee by Carus' memoranda, Phanias, by some means, dared to publicly register the written guarantee of the gold that he had from me. Knowing that Phanias and Demetria had mutually released each other in the month Pauni of the past year, acknowledging in writing that they had received satisfaction—Phanias from Demetria the twenty minae of gold, and Demetria from Phanias the three thousand six hundred drachmas of silver—I am compelled to appeal to you, my lord, and request that you instruct the strategos of the Oxyrhynchite nome to provide Phanias with a copy of this petition, so that he may know that no further claim remains for him regarding this matter or regarding the repayment of the minae, so that I may be benefited. [...] I wrote letters on his behalf without his knowledge.
