"In the year of Queen Berenice, the goddess Epiphanes, the first year, as it is written in Alexandria, in the month of Hyperberetaios and Mesore, in the city of Oxyrhynchus of Thebaid. I swear by the queen Berenice, the goddess Epiphanes, and her ancestors, and all the other gods, Straton son of Nicomachus, of the first friends and chiliarchs of the sword-bearers and of the local horsemen, to Perseus of the local horsemen and to the heirs of the paternal estate, that the two of the streets of Cleopatra Aphrodite shall remain in all things according to the writing of the agreement which I have set before you through the archive of the memorials in the present days, according to which I have granted you from my estate which I have from the estate of Phainippos concerning the village of Pennos, land that is fertile for sowing, from five rectangular arouras, of which the neighbors are indicated through the agreement, and that Straton shall not act poorly concerning the granting of the land nor concerning anything else of those things that have been declared through the agreement nor concerning this oath shall there be any presence of anyone. If I am called to account, whenever I may be called to account by you, without you remaining the lord of the granting of the land, as it is, I also allow my estate to be taken up into the royal estate and I myself shall be liable for the oaths. Straton has sworn the written oath."
