To the beloved and father Diogenes,
Heavy is the brother in the Lord, greetings.
Knowing your love and the piety which you have towards us, my dear father, for this reason I have written to you, deeming it worthy that I may not burden you to come to you, knowing your busy schedule.
Therefore, I ask you, not commanding, concerning Horus, about whom Pathermouthis spoke to you, concerning him, if it is possible, grant him this four-month period, since it is moderate and has a place in Serinian.
For Athyr is about to send him away so that he may rest from the liturgy. May God keep you safe, as long as you carry out the liturgy without hindrance. We wish you well for many years.

To the beloved and father Diogenes,
Barus, the brother in the Lord, greetings.
Knowing your love and piety which you have toward us, my lord father, for this very reason I have written to you, requesting you, so that I may not burden you by coming to you, knowing your busyness.
Therefore, I request you—not commanding—concerning Horus, about whom Pathermouthis spoke to you, if it is possible, to grant him this four-month period, since he is very modest and has a plot of land in Serenianon.
For in the month Hathyr he intends to withdraw himself so that he may devote himself to the liturgy.
May God, who is powerful, guard you until you complete the liturgy without hindrance.
I pray that you remain in good health for many years.
