Σαραπίων Σαραπίω-νι τῷ υἱῷ χαίρειν. διεπεμψάμην σοι διὰ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου (δραχμὰς) ιϛ, ὅπως ἀπαρτίσῃς μοι τὴν ιϛ. ἐὰν οἷον ἠν (*) καὶ τῷ ἀδελφῷ σου λάμ̣[β]α̣ν[ε] π̣αρὰ τ̣ῆς̣ μ̣η-τρός σου τὰς ἴσας (δραχμὰς) ιϛ, καὶ διαπέμψομαι αὐτῇ. ἐὰν ᾖς λαβὼν τὰς (δραχμὰς) ρ, δὸς αὐτῇ. ἐὰν δὲ μή, πέμψον̣ μοι, ὅ̣πως ἀναβὰς α̣ἰ̣-τ̣ήσω ἐγώ. ἔρρωσο.

Greetings to Sarapion, son of Sarapion. I have sent you through your brother (drachmas) 16, so that you may prepare for me the 16. If you are able (*) and your brother receives from your mother the same (drachmas) 16, I will send them to her. If you have received the (drachmas) 20, give them to her. But if not, send to me, so that I may go up and request it. Farewell.

English Translation

Sarapion to his son Sarapion, greetings.
I have sent you through your brother 16 drachmas,
so that you may complete for me the 16 drachmas.
If it is possible, receive also from your mother the same amount (16 drachmas) for your brother,
and I will send it on to her.
If you have received the 100 drachmas, give them to her.
But if not, send word to me, so that I may go up and request them myself.
