To Ammonius, strategos of Arabia,
from Psois and the associated elders who succeed each other,
and those responsible for the village administration
of Rhise and other villages belonging to the lower part of the toparchy of (Tetra)komia:
We, having been requested by you to provide names
of tower-guards for the two-month period
of Tybi and Mecheir of the current 24th year
of Marcus Aurelius Commodus Antoninus Caesar our lord,
hereby submit the following individuals,
who are suitable for our security.
They are:
For the first tower, according to custom:
- Piesies, son of Phiebos, whose mother is Thabeis, aged 25, from Takaperthis.
- Nistheroous, whose mother is Thabelleis, aged 20, from Psophthis.
- Phaesis, elder, freedman of Teos, son of Phthays, aged 35, from Rhise.
- Kasyllas, son of Psois the younger, whose mother is Thaesis, aged 35, from the same village.
For the eighth tower at Skenai:
- Phthays Harpokrates, son of Petethymis, whose mother is Tiathres, aged 40, from Rhise.
