Translation

To Valerius Ammonianus and Gerontius the logistes of Oxyrhynchus, from the community of those who have been appointed, concerning the craftsmen and builders and others of each craft, the elders through the following signatories. We have been sent by your care so that all these differing constructions in the whole city may be inspected, and also whatever else is of the most ancient city, which has been reported as having been violently destroyed and in time to be safely restored to the inhabitants of the city. English Translation

To Valerius Ammonianus, also called Gerontius, logistes (accountant) of Oxyrhynchus,
from the association of the stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and others appointed below, and from the elders of each craft, through those who have signed below:
We have been instructed by your authority to inspect all the buildings throughout the entire city that are in a dangerous condition, and also whatever else there is of the most ancient city that has collapsed due to violence and the passage of time, so that these may be restored to safety for the inhabitants of the city.
Therefore, having temporarily inspected the public works and other buildings in poor condition, together with skilled craftsmen, we hereby report that the places listed below require the necessary repairs.
