The Aurelians Polydeuces and Alexander, son of Apia, from the city of Oxyrhynchus, and Thonis, the mother of Thais, from the same city, the steward, Polydeuces has agreed to give to Thonis his own unmarried daughter Aurelia Aphrodite, daughter of Dionysia, for the study of the art of weaving for a period of four years from the beginning of the next month, Tubi of the current year, during which time the father will provide the child to Thonis, not being absent from him, nor leaving her unattended, being nourished and clothed for the entire time instead of wages by Thonis as it has been established among themselves. Polydeuces also agrees to have received from Thonis in advance for his necessary needs silver drachmas, four hundred, which he will repay to Thonis without interest after the four-year period, not being allowed to take away his daughter during that time nor after the time before he repays the full silver drachmas.
