They rented from Ploution, son of Ploution, and all the brothers from the city of Oxyrhynchus to Apollinarius, son of Plutogenes, and Gaius, son of Paesios, both from the same city for two years from the present year 13 (of the year) from their possessions concerning Seriphus from the Ammonian estate one aroura, so that those who are rented may pay in the present year 13 (of the year) for the green barley of the tax of silver drachmas of sixty-four, and for the coming year 12 (of the year) they shall pay for the barley of the tax of barley eight arta. All are free from any danger, of the land being public for the year, to those who have rented them, whom they will also have dominion over the fruits until the annual dues are collected. If anyone becomes unproductive in the coming year, he shall be accepted by those who have rented. The rental being confirmed, the renters shall pay to those who have rented the annual dues in the month of Pauni, and the barley of the coming year 12 (of the year) shall be pure, clean, unblemished, unthreshed, as it is measured for the public in a measure of four choinikes, as received from the renters measuring for themselves, and the action shall be from the renters in solidarity for the extension and from one and from wherever they may be chosen and from all their possessions. Ploution, son of Ploution, and all his brothers from the city of Oxyrhynchus have leased to Apolinarios, son of Ploutogenes, and Gaius Paesios, both from the same city, for two years from the current 11th year, from their property near Seryphis, from the allotment of Ammonas, one aroura of land, so that the lessees shall clear it of green wood in the current 11th year, paying a fixed rent of sixty-four silver drachmas, and in the coming 12th year they shall sow it with wheat, paying a fixed rent of eight artabas of wheat, all without risk, with all public taxes on the land each year being the responsibility of the lessors, who shall retain ownership of the crops until they receive the annual dues. If in the coming year there is drought, it shall be accepted by the lessees. Upon confirmation of the lease, the lessees shall pay the lessors the annual dues in the month Pauni, and the wheat of the coming 12th year shall be delivered at the threshing floor of Seryphis, new, clean, pure, without dirt, without barley, sifted as for public use, measured by the four-choenix measure of Kapparates, with the lessors themselves measuring it. The execution shall be from the lessees jointly and severally, for payment from any one of them whom they choose and from all their property. The lease is valid.
