In the year of our lords Diocletian Augustus the 6th and Constantine Caesar the 2nd, Aurelia Ammonilla, daughter of Dionysius, having been appointed gymnasiarch and having become a member of the council of the illustrious Oxyrhynchites, rented to Aurelius Paesis, son of Heraclitus, from the village of Kerkethyra for a period of two years from the current year 13 and 12 and 5 years, the lands belonging to her around Seriphus, which had been previously cultivated by me, six eighths, so that he may sow and gather firewood each year from half of the harvest, paying annually a tax of twenty artabs of wheat, free from all danger, of the public lands belonging to you, the landholder, from the crops until you receive what is owed. The rental agreement being confirmed, the renter shall pay the annual tax to Pauni on the 1st of the month, a new, pure, unadulterated, unthreshed fire, measured by your landholder, with two choinikons added to each artab, the transaction being made by the renter as is customary. Aurelia Ammonilla, daughter of Dionysius, son of Dionysius who served as gymnasiarch and became a councillor of the illustrious and most illustrious city of Oxyrhynchus, has leased to Aurelius Paesis, son of Heraklas, whose mother is Taamois, from the village of Kerkethyris, for a period of two years from the present 13th and 12th and 5th year, the six and one-eighth arouras belonging to her near Seryphis, previously cultivated by me, for sowing and harvesting annually with wheat and fodder, on condition of paying annually as rent twenty artabas of wheat, free from all risk, the public taxes of the land being the responsibility of you, the landowner, who retains ownership of the crops until you receive what is owed. Upon confirmation of the lease, the lessee shall deliver the annual fixed rent in the month Pauni at the threshing floor of the village, new, clean, pure, unmixed, sifted wheat, measured by your receiving measure, with two choinikes added to each artaba, the delivery being made by the lessee as is proper. The lease is valid, concerning which the parties questioned each other and mutually agreed. In the 13th and 12th year of our lords Diocletian and Maximian Augusti and the 5th year of our lords Constantius and Maximian, most noble Caesars Augusti, on the 29th of Phaophi.
