Translation into English

"To the daughter of Thermouthi, from the mother of the one who is from the city of Oxyrhynchus, a Persian of the lineage of Heracles, from Thamounios, Arvichios, who is also of Hierakos, of Alexander, greetings with the lord of his own kin, brother of Diogenes. I agree to pay to your daughter Thermouthi, in two years from the month of the seventh of the year of the Emperor Caesar Domitian, of the August German, forty silver drachmas, which are the amount due to Thermouthi, half of the silver drachmas eighty, which I owe to her father Thoos, according to the written document and the record of the bank, and the interest of these for the time due, twelve other silver drachmas and ten other silver drachmas that I owe her without writing, so that it amounts to sixty-two silver drachmas without any addition. If I do not pay according to what is written, I will pay [the amount] with half and the interest of the overdue time, the amount due, of your action being and to Thermouthi, from me and from all that I have as it is from the law; concerning the matters at hand, I have called upon the bank of Sarapeion in the city of Oxyrhynchus. English Translation

"...nis, son of Chairemon... of the mother [Ta]usiris, daughter of Heraklas, from the city of Oxyrhynchus, Persian by descent, to Thamounis, daughter of Harbichis also called Hierax, son of Alexander, greetings along with her guardian, her own full brother Diogenes. I acknowledge that I will repay to your daughter Thermouthis, daughter of Thonis, within two years from the month of Augustus of the coming seventh year of Emperor Caesar Domitian Augustus Germanicus, forty silver drachmas of imperial coinage, which constitute the half part of the eighty silver drachmas that I owe to her deceased father Thoonis, son of Heraklas, according to a written document and bank record, and additionally twelve silver drachmas as interest for the aforementioned period, and another ten silver drachmas that I owe her without written record, making a total of sixty-two silver drachmas without any further addition. If I do not repay according to what is written, I will pay one and a half times the amount and the interest due for the elapsed time, with the right of execution belonging to you and Thermouthis against me and all my property as if by legal judgment. Concerning these matters, I have notified the bankers of the bank of Sarapeion in the city near Oxyrhynchus. My hand is valid wherever it is presented and by whomever presents it on your behalf."
