This is a copy of a decision (of the year) Athyr. The priest and secretary, having deliberated with those present, declared a decision which was read verbatim as follows: Subsequently, the most excellent and most philanthropic governor Valerius Proclus decreed that it seems to me appropriate for the fortunate one to have nothing taken from the brother, since he has once approached the inheritance, the fourth of the estate is to be contributed for the gymnastic office to his own homeland, deducting the dowry that was previously given to the daughter. As for the quantity, since I inquired, nothing was clearly stated, the general of the law will examine more precisely how it is to be settled, and if it is now to be cultivated according to the laws and the recognized decisions, they should not be withheld from the city. As for the endowments and the slaves under Neocydus, who became the judge, it has been decided. Of the ambassadors who requested to establish the revenues of the cultivated lands, the priest and secretary: this year the city will receive the revenues. The fortunate one, through those present, stated that his revenues should be seized and requested their release, the priest and secretary: when what has been commanded by me occurs, the city will receive the appropriate share, and they will be released. Of the ambassadors who requested to establish something also regarding the name of the wife of Apollonius, the priest and secretary: Neocydus has decided concerning these matters. Sarapion, the governor's assistant of Trogoditis, has come out. It has been read.

Valerius Proclus
[Copy of a] decision. (Year) Hathyr [date missing]
... and those with them and Eudaimon and A...l... [unclear]... Kelearis (*) the priest and recorder, having examined (the matter) with those present, dictated a decision which was read aloud verbatim as follows: "In accordance with what the most excellent and most benevolent governor Valerius Proclus decided, it seems proper to me that Eudaimon, having received nothing from his brother, since he once entered into the inheritance, should contribute one-fourth of the estate for the gymnasiarchy to his own city, deducting the dowry previously given to his daughter. Regarding the amount, since upon my inquiry nothing clear was declared, the strategos of the nome will investigate more accurately where he resides, and if there are now arouras (land measures) according to the laws and the judgments read to me, they seem not to conflict with the written testament, these will pass to the city. Concerning the residence and the slaves, judgment has been given by Neokydes, the former judge. The ambassadors having requested to establish something regarding the revenue from the arouras, the priest and recorder (decided): the city will receive the revenues for one year. Eudaimon, through those present, having stated that his revenues had been seized and requested their release, the priest and recorder (decided): when what I have ordered is done, and the city receives its due portion, they will be released. The ambassadors having requested that something also be decided concerning the property in the name of the wife of Apollonios, the priest and recorder (said): Neokydes has already given judgment concerning these matters." Sarapion, the official attendant, a Trogodyte, departed. Read aloud (*).
