Greetings to Sosiphanes.
Much grace to the gods if you are well;
Lonikos is also well.
And the whole vine has been planted,
three hundred and the things around the
replanting. And the olive has given
soil.
Of these, Duni has.
I have also used from Dune's
barley loaves,
promised and being ambitious.
Know also that
each of those who see
the vine being planted before
they say it must exist.
We also drain and water
immediately
the first.
Farewell.

Alcaeus to Sosiphanes, greetings.
Much gratitude to the gods if you are well; Lonikos is also well.
All the vineyard has been planted [...] three hundred vine-stocks, and also the area around the supporting trees.
The olive oil has yielded six choes; of these Dynis has three.
I have also obtained from Dynis four artabas of barley-wheat, as he himself promised and was generous.
Know also that everyone says water must already be available beforehand for the vineyard being planted.
We are channeling and watering immediately from the very beginning.
Farewell.
