From the account of the letters of the general
(year) of God Hadrian
the revered (matter)
concerning sending against him the accusers of Kephala
(of the) kômographos
(matter)
For one thing, send the accusers of Kephala and Maximus the kômographos to me immediately, so that they may prove the matters they promised to examine under the most excellent governor Auidius Heliodorus. Also send with them whatever else they may need for the examinations. They should come immediately so that they may find me still in Heracleopolis and be able to conduct the examination; when this hypothesis is stated, you also happen to be there.
I wish you to be well.
(year) 22 Athyr 12.
For the second time.
Send the accusers of Kephala and Maximus the kômographos of Philadelphia and Kephala his companion and Serapion being called Deyou, both the existing accusers and if any others wish to accuse, send them immediately to me.
I wish you to be well.
(year) 22 Athyr 13.
To which I have transcribed:
As you commanded, I sent the accusers of Kephala and Maximus the kômographos of Philadelphia to you along with those who said they needed for the examinations; I also publicly inscribed in the village and of which you wrote the copy of the last letter, so that if any others wish to accuse either of the same or also...

From the account of letters of the epistrategos, year 22 of the divine Hadrian Augustus, roll MA, concerning sending to him the accusers of Kephalas, village scribe, roll MA:
Immediately send to me the accusers of Kephalas, also called Maximus, the village scribe, so that they may demonstrate the charges they promised to prove before the most excellent governor Avidius Heliodorus. Send also with them whatever else they may need for the proofs. Let them come immediately, so that they may find me still in the Heracleopolite nome and I may be able, while here, to conduct the examination. When this case is heard, you also should be present. Farewell.
Year 22, Athyr 12. Second letter:
Immediately send to me the accusers of Kephalas, also called Maximus, village scribe of Philadelphia, and Kephalas his relative, and Serapion called Deios, and any others who wish to accuse. Farewell.
Year 22, Athyr 13. In reply to these letters:
As you ordered, I have sent to you the accusers of Kephalas, also called Maximus, village scribe of Philadelphia, along with those whom they said they needed for the proofs. I have also publicly posted in the village a copy of your last letter, so that if any others wish to accuse either the same person or also those [...]
The text is a fragmentary administrative correspondence from Roman Egypt (2nd century CE), specifically from the reign of Emperor Hadrian. It involves judicial proceedings and accusations against a village scribe named Kephalas (also called Maximus), and instructions for sending accusers and evidence to the official conducting the investigation.
