The letter of Isidorus, of the Alexandrians, concerning those who have not yet been sent to the district of Hephaestus, born in Philadelphia of the Heracleid district, from the same village of the money-changers, whose importer is Theogenes, in the year Mecheir. Regarding the vineyard (of arouras), from which the annual produce is taken, the delivery through Pelops the servant, in the year Mecheir, how then is it possible that the order having been made, in which also from the agent I received the letter to the overseer in Philadelphia, immediately and to be delivered on the same day in the city of Crocodilopolis, as far as the length of the day is concerned, to the city. If anyone should also take up to have ascended to the city, neither would he find the money-changers still sitting, this is the most dreadful of all. I have received a letter from the overseer to the agent of the district, and from the agent it has been presented to the money-changers through the servant Demetrius.

"(Document) of Isidoros, also called Alexandros, of those not yet registered into the deme of Hephaistias, who have arrived in Philadelphia of the Herakleides division, from the same village, before the tribunal of judges, whose introducer is Theogenes, in the 23rd year, Mecheir 11(?). Concerning a vineyard of 4(?) arouras, from which the annual produce is delivered, and 33(?). Notification was given through Pelops, the assistant, in the 23rd year, Mecheir 13.
How then is it possible, when the notification was made on the 13th, on which day I also received the letter from the collector to the overseer in Philadelphia, immediately to have appealed on the same day in the city of Krokodilopolis, which is a full day's journey away? Even if someone had managed to travel up to the city, he would no longer find the judges still sitting. This is the most unreasonable thing of all. I received a letter from the overseer to the collector on the 14th, and from the collector it was presented on the 15th to the judges through the assistant Demetrios."
