Translation into English

Phoibammon, a scholar,
to the most wonderful Taurinus, help; since I learned from Atratios that he made a letter
Phoibammon, who is also called Plaes, to the village chief regarding the complete debt owed to me,
hasten immediately to demand Phoibammon the peacekeeper and to buy the small goat
and send it to me until the city of Hermes; may it be well with you in the Lord
and take care of the public matters.

English Translation

Phoibammon, scholasticus,
to the most admirable Taurinus, assistant:
Since I learned from Atres that Phoibammon, also called Plae, made a written document to Atres, the village chief, concerning the solidus owed to me,
make haste immediately to demand it from Phoibammon, the peace-officer, and buy the small calf,
and send it to me as far as Hermopolis. Farewell (lit. "be fortunate") in the Lord,
and take care of the public affairs.

• Line 3: Read "[ὀ]φειλομένου" ("owed").
• Line 4: "βοϊδιον" ("small calf") is the correct reading from the papyrus.
